Our story
Maple began in 2018 with a simple frustration: buying electronics shouldn't feel like decoding a spec sheet. Our founder, Ishika, was helping her younger sister pick a laptop for engineering college. Every site repeated the same specs — 15.6" FHD, 8GB DDR4, 512GB SSD — and none answered the one question she actually had: "Will this still feel fast two years from now?"
That evening, over chai in Koramangala, the idea for Maple took shape on a paper napkin. What if buying a laptop could feel as clear as buying a pair of running shoes — where the store helps you understand fit, purpose, and trade-offs before you look at the price?
Our first product wasn't a laptop. It was a comparison page: twelve models, three use cases, and an honest verdict for each. We shared it in three WhatsApp groups. Within a month, strangers were forwarding it. Within a quarter, customers asked us to sell the products ourselves. By 2023 we'd rebuilt the whole stack on a single thesis: every page on Maple should feel like it was designed by someone who actually shops here.
